When starting this project, you have to make a "Cube world" in a 3D space using blender, just like a few years ago. And when starting out, each person gets a different prompt. mine being "Hostile"
I had a few ideas when we got introduced to the assignment. before I got the prompt, I already wanted to do something in the style of a Japanese street or something with a bridge. but all of that concept was pretty peaceful and calm.
There are some guidelines we have to follow. on condition we have to either implement an animation into the model, or I'd have to UV unwrap the model to then paint the texture or take it from a website. And then show that in the process.
I was struggling in my head for quite a while, since "Hostile" didn't really translate to what I was picturing before. So I had to make a change of scenery. i threw the cute city out of the picture and I started brainstorming. Then I thought "Yakuza fight" that would be cool. I could maybe animate some of it so that then I wouldn't have to go through the process of taking everything apart to make some textures and show that because I'm not the most talented 3D artist. Although I am defenitely interested in making some 3D art.

We got 3 weeks for the full project, which seemed fine and doable at first. But after 2 weeks of only having concept and a few shapes in blender. I pretty much realized I was going to have to cut some major corners. And since I didn't want to show something awful I wouldn't be proud of. I tried texturing anyway even though that would mean double the work. And exactly that is the next thing i came to realize. You can't have both, or else you'd be stuck.
Before i get ahead of myself here is the first research i did!
Then I started sketching out ideas. I also got some good feedback that I should take a step back to rework ideas and make more concept. Which is exactly part of my learning goals!
The Yakuza, once together, yet divided in the present. They fought side by side, but due to brain over brawn there came a dispute. 2 groups were formed, they are called The Kashikoi, meaning “the intelligent” and there are The Tsuyoi meaning “The Powerful”.
On one side there were more business related matters going on in their lives. Those are the Kashikoi, but though they are smart. They do business with drugs unlike the Tsuyoi which will not steep so low. The other side they fight to show who owns the streets and they are proud of their turf and status.
After years being separate gangs, they have had countless gang fights in the streets of Tokyo. Citizens of Japan hide in fear as the Yakuza fight each other yet again. And today, they strike again on an average crossroads of Tokyo.
A handful of textures that i UV unwrapped before hand (no pun intended).
When placing my result into Sketchfab. I soon ran into my next problem. and that was that my transparent png's weren't transparent at all. I looked up how to fix the issue, but soon came to realize it would be a ton of work. And at that moment there wasn't much time left to waste. So I went to look into the settings where it said "opacity" and there was an option to turn the image into "additive" which made the black of the picture transparent, but the asset itself would turn out to be slightly transparent as well. And in the end I might just leave it at that at this point.

Here you will see the trial and error. And my result.
After a bunch of tweaking and rummaging around the settings and options. i finally came to a finalized (sort of) project!
Afterword: In the end this is not the result I wanted, as I am dissatisfied with what i made. It feels rushed as if no care has been put into it. Though i really wanted to make this a good comeback to 3D for me, sadly this isn't the case.
Though, I will not give up. Because I shall try making more 3D projects in the future because i still had fun doing certain things in this project. I just need the time to do said things.
What i learned from this project; Make more variations of concept; How to UV unwrap easily; How to make chains in Blender; How to try and cut corners to make it still a decent final product.
